Mercy Heart Health Clinic is a charitable health clinic serving the needs of the uninsured in Rockdale County, Ga. Many in our community have found themselves without jobs and, therefore, without health insurance. As a result, these citizens are going without proper and sufficient health care, which creates a burden on emergency rooms, local businesses and their families.
In 2008, Rev. Howard Greer and Dr. Jeff Meyers recognized the need to provide basic medical and dental care for the uninsured in Rockdale County. Through the work and dedication of key leaders, Mercy Heart Inc. was formed. In March 2009, Conyers First Baptist Church donated the use of a building located at 2796 Ga. Highway 20 S. that has been renovated and is now equipped with three exam rooms, one dental room and a basic lab. Mercy Heart Health Clinic provides a safety net for the uninsured and is a community-supported health and dental clinic that opened its doors to patients in February 2010.
Mercy Heart is a faith-based ministry that is committed to providing not only for the physical needs of its patients, but also for their spiritual needs. Our medical clinics are held each Tuesday evening and our dental clinics are each Thursday evening. Each patient is offered the opportunity meet and pray with a local minister after receiving treatment for his or her physical needs.
Mercy Heart is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) organization that relies on volunteers to provide medical, dental and patient-care services.
